‘The future of concrete structures: towards resilience and technological innovation’

(Rome, 18th-19th November 2021)

The second edition of the fib Italy YMG Symposium on Concrete and Concrete Structures for young engineers, PhD students and Post-Docs is announced.

The Symposium, organized with the support of CTE, aicap and fib, in an opportunity for presenting your own research project or design work to a scientific committee – constituted by university professors and industrial representatives – with the aim of creating an open forum on recent developments and new boundaries of the challenging world of concrete and concrete structures.

Participation

The first author of the submission and speaker for the Symposium should be a young engineer (under 36 yo).

The submission of a research paper / design report is requested for the participation.  This could be related to a specific research topic or it can be a brief summary of a research project or a design example. Submissions are accepted in form of:

short paper (4 pages) – paper (6-8 pages) – design report (3-6 pages)

Submitted papers will be peer-reviewed and sent to the members of fib Commissions in order to receive their feedback for a further development of the work, with special reference to the fib activities.

Papers / reports will be included in the volume of Proceedings (fib Proceedings) and published on the fib International website. Papers at least 6 pages long -including figures, tables and references – will be submitted for the indexing in Scopus.

Papers should be written in English, while design reports and short papers could be written either in English or in Italian.

Awards

The three best works will be awarded through the 
“fib Italy YMG Award for best advances in concrete and concrete structures”.

Registration

Participation is free for fib Italy YMG members. The registration fee, equal to 30€ for under 30 and 150€ for not-yet menbers between 30 and 36, includes the signing up to fib Italy YMG, fib, aicap and CTE.

Deadlines

20th July 2021: abstract submission and registration
10th September 2021: paper / report submission
15th October 2021: responses from reviewers
31st October 2021: final submission
18th– 19th November 2021: Symposium
